I wasn't specific enough, but in any event it appears the problem I had been concerned about was solved recently now that I looked at release notes...
2.0.2 Errata shipping note: "The CW iambic keyer operation in this version software is not acceptable". 2.0.7 (or maybe 2.0.8?) release notes mentions an update to iambic keyer operation.
