Graham, I think that the computer soundcard and MS Plug and Play maybe helping you.. Make sure that the computer sound card is defined in your Windows Sound Driver properties for Recording and Playback, and not the Flex 1500. If you are using MME, have Flex1500 in both the input and outputs. If you are using ASIO sound driver, you may have to disable the internal sound card to get the ASIO driver to recognize the Flex 1500 as active through Plug and Play. Once you have it working there, then you can turn on the internal sound card again..
Windows likes to use the last installed sound card driver as the Windows default driver sounds driver, which we need the Flex1500 separated. Vista does not appear to handle multiple sound drivers as well as Win7.
