Hello and thank you.

I have not yet checked the hotfix, and the on board firewire could be an issue
with sharing data? I will check this as well. I appreciate all the help
because I would be lost without the 5000/3000 either in the shack or the
truck!!!

Thank you,
Ken

Ken,

You say it works ok with the 5000? Interesting..

You might want to make sure in your Control Panel => Add/remove programs that
you have the kb955408 HotFix loaded into your XP computer.

Also, take a look at your DPCs, Delayed Process Calls, with the DPC
Latency Checker, to verify that there is not a large DPC causing the RX
thread
to get out of sync.

Just load this little program on your desktop, you can execute it from there,
just let it run in the background and watch for any large jumps. Anything
greater than 2000us is "Danger, Danger, Will Robinson!" . These large
jumps can cause the busy RX threads to start to loose sync or stop altogether.

Also look for any jumps in system activity, some motherboard manufacturer
have
the SATA , chipsets, and everything else on the same interrupt (IRQ) with
the
USB and FireWire controllers. Microsoft IRQ sharing is good, but not
perfect..

Verify that the grounds for the computer and radio are to the same common
point.
This can be a big issue with mobile installations, chassis ground is not
always GROUND..

Let us all know.

Dudley
