The suggested 5KA hardware reset along with the earlier database reset and reboot seems to have solved this problem.
Also of note is that just preceding this situation, no audio was coming from the radio -- not from the headphone jack, nor the rear speaker jack (Yes, I did try adjusting settings in the mixer first)... however, the database reset fixed that. However, the issue progressed into the autotune problem.
