Alan, My guess is that PowerSDR will recognize the new hardware & download the necessary information (calibration data, etc.) from the EEPROM on the V/U module. However, it is always a good idea to start with a fresh database.
You should be able to transfer your pre-V/U module custom settings over to the new database using SDRDataTransfer with no problems. If you do have a problem, try transferring all categories EXCEPT for the "State" settings. I do not have the V/U module & have not seen a database from a F5K with the V/U module installed. Therefore, SDRDataTransfer does not know anything about the settings specific to the V/U module. Consequently, those settings will NOT be transferred by my utility.
