Ed, I use an Acom 2000A that is also a low drive Amp with a Flex 5000A using current software 2.0.16.
I still find the spike there even configuring my audio chain properly and watching the ALC but as Tim mentions it is much improved in the current Beta SDR verses version 1.18. Those issues have been mostly addressed in the latest 2.0.x beta software.
