Hello Mike,

I have built a number of the "kits" from concepts including the AN-762. If you decide to get this or any other and feel like firing off a question to me, please don't hesitate.

Thanks Rick but I don't do E-bay anymore. I actually inquired about that amp from Dale but it was already sold, now I know to whom....hi hi... One thing that is attractive about the AN-762 option is that it's under $200.00 for the parts and board. Even less, depending on how many bands you're interested in. Just wondering what's all involved. Hoping the find the gent that built one or someone else who has knowledge of them.

Michael,
You might consider a RM Italy model HLA150-v HF power amp. I don't know much about them; however, I've purchased, but not yet received -sound of drumming fingers-, a used one from Dale, WT4T for $250. I think that price is about what you'd expect to pay on eBay. Just a thought. I know of many more amplifiers that are more expensive but I won't take up the bandwidth with those here.

Hope this isn't too far off topic but I continue to look for more
economical amplifier alternatives than the THP HL45-B to go
behind my new 1500. I will be fine with 5 watts on digital and CW
but I'd like a little more "oomph" for SSB.
I recall seeing mention of the AN-762 circuit board and parts
assortments from Communications Concepts here before. I believe a
gent here actually built one and has it working behind a 1500 but
I can't remember his name or call.
I've built kits before but these don't really qualify as kits.
While I have no doubt in my ability to solder all the parts in
place on the board, I wonder what else it takes as far as test
equipment and such to get one of these up and running as a working
amplifier. I also have never wound toroids before which gives me
pause about constructing the low pass filters the amp would need
for the various bands it would be used on. Can anyone either
comment or direct me to some links for practical applications of
    this circuit?
    Tnx and 73,
    Michael, W4HIJ
