Check out this KB article.  If you are running XP, it will tell you the 
configured SIDSPEED (see the bottom of the article)  and if you need a hotfix 
to correct it.  Otherwise if you are running Vista or Win7, the driver properly 
sets the speed to the correct speed for the type of 1394 HBC you have installed
