That is what you should see.  The 30 and 20 meter bands pass through the
same filter in the 1500, so there is no need to actually change the filter.
There is only one filter used for both 30 and 20 meters.

Likewise, 17 and 15 meters go through one other filter, and 12 and 10 metes
pass through yet another filter.

Reference to the schematic diagram (which is rather convoluted) reveals the
way the filter switching is done in the 1500 by the front panel switch and
the remote input from an external device. There is also a chart that shows
the frequency range of each filter, several of which cover more than one
band.  Again, the manual is rather obscure on this point, but it's there.

The 1500 is internally wired so that the front panel switch lights the
proper LED's to make the operator feel happy and also to let him know that
the correct band has been selected.  Try this: Slowly rotate the band switch
from 16 through 10 meters.  You will hear the filter relays "clunk" as they
switch.  You will notice that there are fewer clunks (and filters) than
there are band positions on the switch.
