I don't know if this is the case with you but when I first installed 2.2.2
Beta, it was hard for me to
see the TNF button also. When I did find them I saw what was going on. I
use a custom
color setup for the PowerSDR software that I developed some time ago. It
just happened
that the color background blended in with the TNF button background. So all
I saw at first
was just the letters and not the look of the button as you would normally
see.
Just wondering if yours did the same?

never any good at finding Waldo so maybe my brain can't see what's right in
front of my nose. Where is the TNF button? Tim's tutorial on its use says to
"click on the TNF button" but I can't seem to be able to find it!
