Sold my 5000 just over a year ago because it didn't really fit my needs, but I missed it dearly. So last week I sprung for a new 1500 and have been very happy playing playing around! The last couple of days I've been playing WSPR, couple of watts, 10M, 20M, 40M, it's amazing where you can be heard from! To make a sad story short....WSPR running away happily in the back ground with Power SDR on 10M on a Hustler 5BTV and me (THE MORON) tuning up on 80M, 1KW full size 1/4 wave vertical.....6 feet from the HUSTLER!! ARGHH!! sooo after noticing I wasn't being heard any where on WSPRnet it dawned on me. Check power out on Flex, nadda, not even a milliwatt. Receive is fine though. Pull the boards out and a close inspection shows that D1 on the PA board did its job and let out the magic smoke!
So the question is, whats the spec for this diode, I'm guessing it's a TVS. I'll try to find some one with good soldering skills locally.
