I had a similar problem and discovered that I had the Windows 'playback' and
'recording' properties of the VAC cables set to different sampling rates.

Subject: [Flexradio] Flex 5000 Audio Problem

I am hearing my mic audio and CW through the system speakers. It sounds as
if there's an echo on SSB. Here's my configuration:

Flex 5000A with PowerSDR 2.3.5 running VAC 4.11. Computer is a Shuttle
i7 running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have VAC 1 and 2 working in PowerSDR. I
have disabled both and have the same results.

Bose Companion 2 speakers are plugged directly in to the back of the Flex.
I
tried a different set of speakers and have the same problem. Even if I
turn the computer system sound all the way down, I have the problem.

If I look at the audio Volume Mixer in Windows I have one device,
speakers, which is set for (speakers, Realtek High Definition Audio). I
muted everything including the computer speakers and have the same problem.

In the mixer window, I can see all 8 of my virtual audio cables plus a
Realtek Digital Audio that are not selected. The applications that are
present under the volume mixer window are System sounds, CommCat spot
manager, Mozilla Firefox, and Flex Radio Systems PowerSDR.

I know it's not RF because I get the audio feedback even with the amp off
and power output set to zero. The only way to stop the feedback is to turn
the Companion 2 speakers all the way down, or unplug them.

What am I missing here?
