(of course, it could be something else too, but....). Maybe the Flex doesn't see the Firewire port on one of the machines. Verify that the Firewire driver is not the generic Windows driver but rather the hardware-specific driver from the Firewire card's manufacturer. Other than that, I dunno.....?!
