That is not how XIT/RIT works. The VFO frequency display does NOT change, but the actual RX or TX frequency does.

Tune into a station. Enable RIT. Change the value to 2000 (Hz). You should hear the signal go off frequency, hence the Receive Incremental Tuning (RIT) is working.
