Jim:

Do you have your noise blanker turned on? The kind of behavior you mention is common to all noise blankers, even software ones. I have it with my Flex 5000. I turn off the noise blanker and the problem goes away.

Subject: [Flexradio] broad band noise

Query: My 3000 has "phantom audio" issues, for lack of a better way to
verbalize, especially noted when pre amp is on and a strong cw signal is
received on an adjacent frequency, as far as 100 Khz off center freq!
Turning preamp off helps, but is not a cure. I operate this rig mainly
on 6 meters, for what it's worth, although band selection shouldn't be a
factor. This cw "splatter condition" is strong enough to be copied 100
Khz +/- above and below freq on which it is actually transmitted.

Thoughts?
