I have a similar problem ... Often when I turn-on my 1500 the audio output from the phones jack on the front of the 1500 is silent. THe audio shows on the screen ok. I’ve only once had the audio turn-on and then quit after about 3 seconds.
The only fix I’ve found is to turn everything off, including the computer and reboot, and restart from scratch. This usually works.
