Hi Dave, Any chance you're using a HEIL mic adapter?
I had garbled audio from RF getting into the mic connector. As it turned out the mic was wired as 'Yaesu', but required the chassis ground pin to be connected to the mic ground pin on the adapter. I soldered a tiny jumper between the two pins and the problem was completely eliminated. YMMV.
