Subject: [Flexradio] Flex 5000 Value (For sale: NIB FLEX-5000A+AT+RX2+VU5K)

Jim--

I've been following this thread with interest as I'm ready to sell my "still
boxed", never unpacked, new, unused FLEX-5000A+AT+RX2+VU5K that I received from
FlexRadio in Dec 2010 at a cost of a bit over $5,000. What "for sale" forums
were you suggesting that advertising could be placed "to advertise your 5000's
to VHF/UHF ops where the market is strong!" My asking price for this NIB radio
is $3,500 -- and I'm looking for a buyer.

In the meantime, --thank you Neal Campbell for a wonderful computer and
FlexRadio for the FLEX-6700!

Subject: Re: [Flexradio] Flex 5000 Value

Re the 5000's value on the used market....the ones that are equipped with the
VU module are highly sought after by meteor scatter ops who use FSK441 on VHF
bands. There are not too many decent rigs out there that will make RF on 6m,
2m and 70 cm that are capable of the multitude features available on a well
equipped 5000. The tuner is not a plus, but the vu module is highly sought
after. The high end 6000 series will work in the MS application on VHF, but
pricey. So, advertise your 5000's to VHF/UHF ops where the market is strong!
Es season is just a few weeks away which will further strengthen this market.

I can tell you first hand that the 3000's make beautiful AM fone rigs!
They sound as good or better than the boat anchors which employ high level
plate modulation and the fact that the RF output is adjustable is a real plus
when used to drive modern amplifiers on AM (continuous duty).
