Another one to try is Fideliphone: http://www.fideliphone.com/ Uses the Opus codec and is fully adjustable.
RemAud is ok, but doesn't include Opus, only GSM (ugh) and PCM linear encoding. I always use PCM. I've also had issues with it not playing well with some pc apps in terms of sample rate sync. The biggest annoyance with Skype is it's not full duplex, and has some annoying automatic level behavior, even when it's supposedly disabled.
