I have had the following described to me, but never saw it myself. There have been several accidents over the years with pilots stalling Cessnas, without proper stall horn warning. Usually dirt-dobbers ruined the horn.
Then a student pilot was killed by the same thing. FAA was going to issue an AD to placard the wing, but then later changed it to a note and diagram added to the pilot operation manual.
