Yes, this was in fact part of the problem. I first installed plib, then SimGear then MetaKit, then decided to upgrade gcc, then tried compiling FG which failed. I realized I should recompile the existing SimGear and plib using the new compiler, but forgot to do the same with MetaKit. Thanks for the enlightenment. Really a great bunch of people work on this product.
