My guess is a Geforce2/MX 32mb would be a good minimum. That's what I'm using here and it seems fine. I'll usually get between 35-60 fps or so with it bottoming out at 24fps on that pig of a p51-d cockpit I built. Faster cards are getting cheap, but I kind of like being on the low end for testing new stuff. I also have a 16mb TNT sitting here that ran the last release fine, but it hasn't tested it lately. > If it is anymore than a 32 MB graphics card for the simple stuff then I > think that steps need to be taken to add a menu for graphics options if > these are indeed configurable (and assuming the menu doesn't already > exist). Texture memory usage is probably the biggest hit right now. Just a guess, but we've been doing nicer (bigger) textures for all sorts of things. That also happens to be where the new video cards are heading...bigger ram. Even on the low end it's getting hard to find a 16mb card and the 32mb cards are about half the price they were a year ago.
