While I'll keep out of the Andy C. discussion, I do think the .AC format is a 
bit limited.  For example, the new Crease function/tag appears to operate 
globally across a model, whereas you really need to be able to set it for 
individual edges, or point-pairs, and the texture handling, while functional, 
is a bit too basic, imo - support for multiple textures with 
hierarchy/priority would be a big improvement, for a start.
