Erik, in order to determine how feasible it would be to even
further extend tardiff.pl in one way or the other it would
be useful to know what _major_ changes to the FlightGear base
package are planned, or at least likely to occur within the
near future, so things like structural changes but also
file format changes (e.g. because of compression) would
be interesting.
Steven has meanwhile written a pretty advanced version of the
original script that for example now provides means to
determine if files/folders were moved or renamed within the
FlightGear base package tree in order to reduce the resulting
patch file's size.
There do exist some other ideas, but many of these would
be extremely specific and would only make sense in certain
cases.
So, what kind of likely changes come to your mind ?
