Both wishes are fulfilled. New version uploaded. It's now as fast as possible (using JonS' ideas). Note that there is a bug somewhere in sg that is responsible for wrong elevation data if a location lies on a subtile(!)-boundary. I'm currently working around that by adding 0.0001 to lon and/or lat if necessary. That's good enough for getting the terrain height. (The signs are on the correct place, but the elevation may be slightly off, which doesn't really matter.)
