You got it. In theory, if fgsd is able to write both a new .btg file *and* scenery database changes, then you'll be able to see what the terrain should look like in fgfs immediately, by just loading the tile (the altered .btg file) in fgfs. In practice, though, the process of modifying the input data with your changes, regenerating the scenery tile, and comparing with the tile as fgsd wrote it directly, probably won't produce a perfect match just because nothing's perfect.
