Sorry for being slow to reply.

I have been thinking that if we do choose to replace plib/ssg, I would most likely consider OSG. But it would be a huge amount of effort to do the conversion, and could be very disruptive to the code for some time, and it would take a person who is pretty familiar with all the subtle things we do to work around plib limitations. And all the opengl code we have that is outside the scope of plib needs to continue to function correctly. So it is no small task, and no easy task ... probably more than one person could do on their own.

Someday we need to seriously consider this, but we probably don't want to touch this until sometime after our v1.0 release this coming year.
