One of my [too] many outside activities is serving as the volunteer editor of Horizons, the online magazine for the local Houston chapter of AIAA (the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics). The current issue (Jan/Feb) just now uploaded to our site has a focus on open source software (with a mention of FlightGear, of course)). I thought you might be interested in taking a look.
