Well, actually this aircraft flew in quite a few schemes.
It flew in "regular" black paint finish, same plus some patch of ablator on the
tail area (and a white cross applied to the bottom), and finally with a full
spray of MA-25 ablator. I read on NASA site (Dryden flight research center at
Edwards AFB) that the orange color was bare spray of ablator and this was
covered with white sealant paint before flight (last flight with record mach
was flown like this). The aircraft also flew with a shorter ventral fin that
actually was a strut for mock-ups of supersonic combustion ramjets (aka
scramjets).

So far I am making the black texture. Ablator being white overall won't be too
hard, and I already made the replacement fin and ramjet mockup ;)
I am wondering if it is possible to make a texture that would evolve during
flight. I have in mind the icing of oxygen tank before launch, glowing red
hot-spots at maximum mach and temperature weathered paint after reentry.
Loading times may be prohibitive though.

Last link is in french but with awesome reference material. I recommend US
based people to have a look at US Air Force sites on the web It seems I cannot
connect to any of them... maybe because I try to connect from that not so
friendly country known as France ?
