If this winds up as a double post or worse, my apologies. Problems with my ISP being blacklisted at sourceforge or something and email is bouncing again.

You could create a FG window that stretches across the two displays, then cover one of those with a 2d panel. You'd have to play tricky games with the view frustum though so that the other display is "centered" on the center of the display, not centered between the two displays. > > You still have to incorporate the 2d panel into the existing FG scene graph which will impact perormance running everything on a single GPU. Might be a heavy performance hit on the GPU to do everything for a large full scale cockpit which says you use a second machine for the cockpit. In which, case you should create a second scene graph that does not require an FG engine. Say a real-time linux kernel with deterministic hardware and network scheduling and tailored for the cockpit and nothing else. Then use the LAN and protocols built into FG to read and write data packets with the cockpit machine. Also makes interfacing to the hardware cockpit easier and cleaner as it would not require any changes to the FG software. There is a company in Tennesse, called Blue Mountain Avionics, using RT Linux from the FSMLab folks in New Mexico to run a glass cockpit for folks building experimental aircraft FSMLabs (http://www.fsmlabs.com <http://r.vresp.com/?FSMLabsInc/bda3b828c1/733243/3f048af131/67daf68>) RTLinuxPro is shipping in the just released Gen4 glass cockpit from Blue Mountain Avionics. The EFIS/One is state-of-the-art, complete glass cockpit designed specifically for experimental aircraft that is fast becoming the standard choice of sport pilots from RV drivers to L-39 jet jockeys. There are open-source rt linux kernels that are just as good for simulators and robotic applications and the price is right Regards John W. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
