Curt, 

The question I have is why is this command broken for you?  Perhaps your
tree is no longer logged in for some reason?

It still works here:

$cvs version
Client: Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.12.13 (client/server)
Server: Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.12.13 (client/server)
