Hi, >They give us sources of visual model of Tu-154b, and permit to use it "as is", > >for non-commercial purpose. So, it's not GPL.
Sorry to say, the non commercial clause is a violation of the GPL. Essentially you can use GPL Code even commercially, but you have to provide the customer with the sources. MS for instance could sell FlightGear models in their FlightSimulator, but would have to distribute it along with the sources of the models. Another points: Do you have permission to distribute modified models? Under which conditions are other parties allowed to distribute derivatives? Does the community have the right to modify the sources and distribute it? As a last resort you can provide the community with a seperate download which can be linked from the FlightGear Webpage. Olaf PS: I am in doubt whether GPL is a suitable license for "models" because "sources" is quite unclear to me for artistic material like a Aircraft model. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
