Yes, and you know why. This was one of the really bad decisions in this
project. Some project leader should have stopped this. FlightGear uses
a particular format for XML files: <PropertyList>. It has tools for
loading them into a tree, and for writing them from there, it has methods
to deal with the nodes in C++ and Nasal. Our life would be a lot easier
if all parts worked together, and not every little subsystem had to
invent its own methods. It takes a lot of extra code to make some sense
out of these alien files.
