Hi, I've updated the patches. I tested these, with the code as of a few hours ago, on both Mac and ubuntu-9.04 on vmware, and these work fine on both (with or without --with-eventinput configure option).
Now I can say it is safe to apply, so please commit these patches. Don't forget to run autogen.sh after applying attached patches (with -p0 at the top directory of each project). I want to thank James Turner on this. He was kindly enough to make a test for me on a linux in VMWare on his Mac, and gave me the problem report (the order of static libs on linux), which reminds me that I also have VMWare! I, therefore, installed ubuntu-9.04 on it and made some tests. I got some linker errors during the tests so I fixed these. I believe these patches are really important for Mac users since they don't have to wait for my updating xcode project files. these also saves up to 50% of build time since most of users don't have to make universal binaries.
