Hmm...
I like this zooming. As a photographing is one of my hobbies I like to play with this zooming and the changing the field of view. So you can get large areas more "dense"! Even this "dissorted view" is a stylistic device in photography. On the other site changing the viewpoint is also useful- to have both would be great! Maybe just a different button key using for changing the viewpoint? Otherwise I have to disagree and vote against this patch.
