Yes, this is just a reflection that the code may not be optimized for 
older hardware, because "next" is on current development. I suggest you 
better take branches releases/2.2.0 from sg/fg/fgdata to compare. 
Another interesting repo to checkout could be 
http://www.gitorious.org/fg/fgmeta

Anyway branch master is not followed since more then 10 months I think , 
and there have been a lot of changes (master was just a intermediate 
branch from one of the project leaders?). I think master could be fg/sg 
2.0. The gitorious repo needs clean up since many months, it is hard to 
get overview with 11 branches and no or outdated documentation.
