Torsten, Eventually, there will be a null atmosphere model that will allow flightgear to completely control the temperature pressure and density. There will also be several other atmosphere models available in future versions of JSBSim. I'd strongly recommend using the JSBSim atmosphere when flying JSBSim aircraft models. If there is an additional capability needed, we can probably add that, but I have to ask why fg would not use the JSBSim atmosphere model?
Also, I don't recommend including this new model in the new flightgear release thats coming up.
