Hi all,
A few days ago i was stress testing our coast here by putting tons of
buildings. Just for fun and to see the performances of my gfx card with
fgfs. Kinda surprised with the less of objects i had placed and the
consequences this had. I discovered that a few generic objects have double
sides or double vertices for no reason. The frame rate dropped down that
lot. Much more as my non optimized EBBR region. So now i'm using some
object which has 3 times that file size and it play 3 times better.

Models that come in mind are:

Models/Residential
    MontHse*.ac
    MontserratHse*.ac

And there are much more i found during my exploration, but can't remember
at the moment and i may need to check again as this kinda a huge collection
of objects. But there where lot's of objects with other types of little
issues too. I'm new to his all (including 3D and i'm not a game freak) but
i guess that this could have a big impact on the "Random Objects" feature
in fgfs.

I dunno how the modellers would react if i just edit and upload a fixed
version. However, i'm unable to find back the authors email on the
scenerydb website and the procedure could take 10 times longer as just
fixing the real issue. Like my mail for example. And it's also about lot's
of revision work. It would be cool if we try to cleanup a bit some objects
before the new release. It can just improve our frame rates anyway...

I can propose to try some cleanup on 23-24 of this month or other date if
nothings has been done so far. Just a fixing round, not improving the
graphics. What do you think?

BTW: Which file list the objects for that random objects feature? Found
that materials.xml file and the mentioned objects above are listed there
in...

Thanks for all the fish,
Kind regards,
Itchi,
