Umm ... but you said: "it says that it can't find default.nav.gz." This won't become better only by running Map. Did you set FG_ROOT? This isn't required, but I always recommend to explicitly set FG_ROOT (and FG_SCENERY if it differs from $FG_ROOT/Scenery). Many of the programs that are in some way related to fgfs use these environment variables. Most of my scripts do. :-) > >FWIW: I'm not using "Map" with the --atlas option, but built my own script. > > http://members.aon.at/mfranz/flightgear/mapsync > Cool! I'll try it. You may want to replace the "austria()" function by "italy()". This makes sure that Austria is at higher resolustion, just like the bay area. > How many maps are included by default into the data package of FG? Maps? None. But you probably mean scenery tiles. Only *parts* of w130n30 are in the base package. You may want to install the rest of w130n30, too. Here it is a good idea to put it into a separate directory, let's say $FG_ROOT/WorldScenery/Terrain/ and to add this path to $FG_SCENERY: export FG_SCENERY=$FG_ROOT/Scenery:$FG_ROOT/WorldScenery # note: the scenery is in a Terrain/ subdir, but this is used automatically Scenery can be found here: http://www.flightgear.org/Downloads/scenery-0.9.8.html You may also want to put additional objects from http://fgfsdb.stockill.org/ into $FG_SCENERY/WorldScenery/Objects/. There are some for Italy in the database, such as the tower of PISA. m. _______________________________________________ Flightgear-users mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-users 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d
