This down-n-dirty set of tutorials teaches the basic concepts of creating aircraft for the Targetware environment, using AC3D. The basic concepts, however, are usable with other 3D modeling software (albeit with a slightly different interface and command set), and will likely produce aircraft usable in many types of games and flight simulators as well.
Emphasis is on demonstration, not necessarily high production quality. Beginning with the basic steps of culling good source materials from which to model, and moving through the creation of fuselage shapes, wings, flight control surfaces, engines, cockpit exterior structures, landing gear, and other aircraft-specific parts, the tutorials take you through the creation of an aircraft almost from start to finish. Methodology, keystroke commands (AC3D-specific) and step-by-step processes are all explained, giving a novice modeler a grasp of the basic concepts, while creating the very type of project they're interested in.
The tutorials (13 at current count, with a few yet to be added) are broken up into 6 .rar archives. Each archive contains 2-3 episodes in Windows Media .wmv format. Here's a link to shareware program WinRar to aid in unpacking the archives.
WARNING! These files are huge, and take a LONG time to download, even with a fast Internet connection. The entire series is 950 Meg.
