if you link against simgear shared libraries you'll have to modify
the flightgear makefiles as there are a lot of interdependencies
between simgear libraries which we don't need to worry about when
using static libraries. i can post a patch (since i've been using
shared libraries for a long time)

otherwise (if you use static libraries) things should work just fine.
just remove the debian package and install everything from cvs.
