I cannot offer you a pure Windows solution like the W32 binaries V0.9.8
but if you don't want to go the (sometimes really hurting) way of
building a FlightGear CVS Version under *CygWin* I could offer you the
following:
a) you *must* have a fast internet connection for the big downloads!!!
b) you had to install Cygwin on your HD
c) you had to download the FG CVS *data*
- pretty easy under CygWin, I would explain detailled if you are
interested
d) I would put the needed compiled Flightgear stuff of the "bin" folder
on some webspace, you had
to download it and place it into the CygWin/FlightGear folder
e) you could get access to FlightGear/run FlightGear through my newest
FlightGearTools V1.2.
I created some functions for my own use to run the CVS/Cygwin
FlightGear directly from the Windows GUI without the need to fire Cygwin
and type in all the command line options. This little tool has not been
tested by other FlighGear users as it is for my own need only but it
works on my PC like a charm, could not think where the problems should
be for you if you have a modern Windows OS / probably Win XP.
*To make things clear*,
1. although running *CygWin* FlightGear from Windows, FlightGear make
use of some (3?) CygWin files, so it is not possible to run it
without CygWin installed!
2. running the *CygWin* FlightGear has *lower* framerates than the Win32
binaries. So if you don't have the right hardware, forget about it.
This is just an *offer as I had some real problems until I was able to
compile my own CVS versions* - but I won't miss that now, all that
wonderful new stuff and possibilities! If you are interested, tell me.
I'll give more precise instructions and upload the needed zip onto my
webspace (ca. 16 MB!!!)!
