Hi,
As a newbie to FG I would like to add a view.

I am from New Zealand ( for those of you who don't know New Zealand,
Wellington the capital, is  41 19.19S 174 48.9E.) the flying environment in
Australasia consists of trips of variably between 500 and 1,500 Nm.

Due to the distances involved I like the Fairchild A10 Thunderbolt. Is has a
good cruise speed (300kts), great autopilot, good low speed landing
charateristics. My heart felt thanks to the developer of the A10.

I am developing a utility program in VB6 for setting up a flight plan. At
the moment it assumes ideal weather conditions. I know there are plenty of
these on the 'net but I have low spec hardware and dialup internet so a
small intranet based utility suits me ( yes i'm re-inventing the wheel but
with my flavour mags(;->). It also displays aerodrome templates in PDF
format along with Nav and Com information.

In relation to the thread, I would love to be able to contribute to the FG
ethos. I have some programming experience (Windows, Visual Basic 6) and have
downloaded "Blender" for 3d modelling. I would like to provide added detail
for some of the aerodromes around New Zealand, just things like runways,
terminal buildings, surrounding roads, Nav Aids, Com etc. I feel modelling
aircraft is a bit ambitious at the moment, but would love to know where the
ADF is on the A10 :-) When I've finished "Flight Planner" I will be asking
for help in the above aims.

Regards
Dene
