My patch to the autopilot is supposed to select the closest one to the last WP on the flight plan before the ambiguous WP, if the waypoint used is a VOR. I didn't check though that the other kinds of WPs do the proper thing. Did you use the autopilot "add waypoint" dialog, or did you use smth else?
