Hi, This sounds to me much more like a problem of your own hardware and/or software than a FlightGear problem. Why don't you try a slightly more robust operating system than that crappy Windows ME ? (XP, Linux)
It may also be your videodriver (is it a recent one ?) and/or a problem of the videocard.
