Red Hat 7.0 was released in (I believe) 2000. This is an ancient distribution. The XFree86 version it shipped did not have accelerated OpenGL, and almost certainly is not supported by the current NVidia or ATI proprietary drivers. Basically, it's hopeless. By the time you have assembled all the needed software, you will have essentially hand-upgraded your system to a modern distibution. Just install FC4, or Ubuntu, or OpenSuSE. Any modern distribution will work.
