Don't mention controlling flaps through nasal today please.  Actually, you can 
now since I finally got my little script behaving itself after much

You set a "timer" which can watch various things... there are examples in the 
Spitfire, Hurricane, Bo105 and probably a few others.  Grep for "timer" and 
you should find a variety of methods for doing similar things.  You can vary 
the resolution of the timer etc to suit.

Once you begin to figure out what's going on, it's not too hard to 
implement... it helps to be comfortable working with OO code - since the only 
real programming I've done in the past was very procedural Fortran I'm still 
feeling my way around myself.

If you need further help I'll do what I can, but I'm still a bit of a duffer 
with this stuff so you'd probably be better off asking the experts on the IRC 
channel :-)
