Yes. But when you buy a new HDD you should have a look at the cost/value ratio as well. A big distributor around here charges 46 - 49 Euro for a 40 GB. And the 80 GB are at 51 - 56 Euro. So buying a new 40 GB would be a bit insane... At 80 GB and above the HDD have a normal cost/value ratio, so going bigger isn't necessary.
