The hill is the result of the radar of the Shuttle sensing the tower itself. It
happens often in built areas.

The tower feet really exist. They are in stone and they keep the tower stable in
an otherwise wet area that used to be a marsh ( the Seine river is not far ).
However, they are not so tall.
