Heidi, unfortunately I don't use a Mac and am not familiar with the issues you are having; so I won't be able to provide much help. I will say, though, that from the perspective of a developer you are a very hard user to help. As you may know, FlightGear is a volunteer project. Sometimes, that means that things like documentation are not as clear as they can be. But it also means that, when you want help, you will get a much better response if you make it easy for the developers and other users to help you. This can mean many things: Try very hard to be clear about your problems. The statement "All the stuff they say helps doesn't work." doesn't tell us much. A better report might include the kind of joystick you are using and the full text of any error messages, if there are any. Try to describe exactly what the problem is: does the joystick not work at all, or does it do the wrong thing? Also, try to anticipate the questions we are going to ask: tell us up-front which pieces documentation (for example: http://wiki.flightgear.org) you have read and that you either don't understand it or that it did not help. Try very hard to be clear, in general. Note that this is an international audience that includes non-native English speakers as well as English-speaking adults over the age of 30. The use of proper grammar and spelling, full sentences and paragraphs, and avoidance of "txt spk" like "u" and "plz" will go a long way toward helping us understand what it is you are trying to ask. It will also have the advantage of making you look more serious and educated, and more willing to engage in a two-way discussion with us. Quite honestly, your communication so far looks like you are sending it to us from a cell phone, and not reponding to questions with real answers. I hope that this doesn't seem too critical. We believe that you are having trouble running FlightGear, and are eager to help you resolve those issues. But further progress will require effort on both sides of the conversation, I'm afraid.
